Currently November

I can't believe it is already November. This year is flying by. Our first trimester ends at the end of the month and then it's conferences. I feel a little stressed that I won't get everything done that I need to accomplish before then, but all I can do is keep plugging away. Here's what's up with me right now.

  1. I just finished the first quarter. Conferences are on the 15th, followed by a day off. I can't wait for a day off. Hope you feel better soon!

    1. Elizabeth,

I wish I could see Maroon 5 live. That would be awesome! Glad you are here. My hat is off to you... I couldn't imagine teaching Kinder. You are a special breed. :)

  3. I just got over a two week long sickness. This is the worst time of the year for teacher illness.

Your blog design is adorable! My classroom decoration is made with all of those owls clip art! My kids love them! My favorite one is the purple. I put 'her' on everything.

    1. Jessica,

I bet your room is super cute. I am loving all of the cute owl stuff available right now. It is so much fun. My cold seems to be getting better, but I am not very good at slowing down and waiting to get better.

I am headed over to check out your blog. I taught 2nd grade for 16 years and a big part of my heart is still there. Although, I am loving third.

    1. Thanks Holly!

I am starting to feel better. Hopefully this will pass quickly. My son is in fourth grade. I am enjoying seeing what he brings home from 4th. It is giving me some good information about what I need to do with my thirds.

  6. Hi -
I am also concerned about some of my third graders making their targeted growth this year. There's so much to do!

Hang in there - feel better soon!

    1. Jane,

Knowing I am not alone in my concerns is what keeps me going. It is just so difficult to get kids proficient when they are reading at a pre-primer level. I am just hoping for a least a year's growth and if I get more, then great. But, that pesky No Child Left Behind thing is making this more difficult than it should be. By third grade, it is tough to catch them up. Keep up the good work.
